about Sergio

Sergio Salvador is an Albuquerque-based photographer, occasional writer and part time youth soccer coach. He grew up in the Duke City, but it was moving away for many years that helped him better appreciate living in New Mexico—the staggering natural beauty, rich blend of cultural history & tradition, and the lively can-do spirit of the people that call New Mexico home. Sergio’s photo career began during the days of film, sometime in the late 1990s, when he started the local magazine La Cocinita and realized that he needed images to go with the recipes and stories in the magazine.

When not shooting or processing images, Sergio spends his days trying to keep up with his two young boys, playing online chess and watching or thinking about the game of soccer.
